What is the difference between a ‘back pressure’ regulator and the commonly asked for ‘pressure’ regulator?
A back pressure regulator controls upstream pressure.
A forward reducing regulator controls downstream pressure.
Back Pressure >> Forward-Reducing
When to Use a Back Pressure Regulator?
Pressure Control: To maintain upstream pressure within a system by releasing excess pressure downstream.
Protects Equipment: Ensures that sensitive equipment like analysers, transmitters, flow meters, pumps or valves are not damaged due to excessive pressure.
Improve System Efficiency: Regulates pressure to maintain optimal system performance.
Prevents Flow Issues: Helps avoid flow inconsistencies by ensuring constant pressure across a process.
Our range covers port sizes from 1/8″ to 2″ and control pressures from 0.1 bar (2 psi) to 690 bar (10,000 psi) on gas or liquid applications. The designs provide accurate and repeatable shut-off due to the large sensing area and minimised loading on the seating area.
Applications
- Flow control
- Electrolysis
- Analyser manufacturers
- Compressor manufacturers
