Fluidline is the sole distributor for Pressure Tech in Africa. Fluidline Solutions Zambia (FSZ) supports Zambian customers with speciality-gas regulator selection, project enquiries and supply coordination.
Gas Control for Zambian Laboratories and Industry
Mining and mineral-processing projects may need controlled gas supplies for analytical instruments, sample testing and laboratory work. The appropriate arrangement depends on the instrument and gas service; laboratory suitability does not imply suitability for slurry or bulk process duty.
For facilities in Lusaka, the Copperbelt or North-Western Province, give FSZ the site location and delivery deadline alongside the technical specification. Current Zambian availability and supply arrangements are confirmed per enquiry.

Specify the Complete Gas Delivery Route
A useful enquiry starts at the cylinder and ends at the instrument. Record the gas or mixture, purity, cylinder connection, available pressure, required working pressure and flow. Include the number of instruments that may operate together and whether changing a cylinder can interrupt the process.
Pressure Tech’s speciality-gas range covers high-purity applications up to grade 6.0, including laboratory and analytical gas supply. Selection must match the actual gas, materials and operating duty. Manufacturer range overview.
Which Product Performs Which Duty?
| Model | Role in the system | Published range maximum* |
|---|---|---|
| SGC | Cylinder regulator assembly | 300 bar inlet; 50 bar outlet |
| SGL | Line pressure reduction | 300 bar inlet; 50 bar outlet |
| SGA | Semi-automatic cylinder changeover | 300 bar inlet; 50 bar outlet |
| SGM | Manual changeover manifold | 300 bar inlet; 50 bar outlet |
| SGP | Final point-of-use pressure control | 50 bar inlet; 14 bar outlet |
| DSV | Diaphragm shut-off valve | 300 bar operating pressure |
| RLF | Relief valve | Cracking-pressure range up to 60 bar |

Changeover: Decide How Much Continuity the Process Needs
The SGA switches between cylinder supplies through a pressure differential. After replacing the depleted cylinder, the operator resets the changeover lever. A second stage is an option where tighter outlet-pressure stability is required. It is a semi-automatic arrangement: cylinder replacement and the correct reset procedure remain operator tasks. SGA details.
For a laboratory, consider the consequence of interrupted gas supply before choosing manual or semi-automatic changeover. Include any alarm or monitoring requirement in the enquiry, rather than assuming it is part of a standard assembly.
Line Regulation and Final Instrument Pressure
The SGL offers single- and two-stage configurations, with chrome-plated brass or 316/316L stainless steel options. The SGP places pressure control at the point of use, with optional isolation, indication and relief equipment. SGL details · SGP details.
Give the supplier the instrument manufacturer’s inlet requirements. A suitable cylinder regulator does not, by itself, confirm that the pressure reaching every instrument is correct during peak demand. Review the entire route, including tubing, connections and any additional treatment equipment.
What to Include in Your Enquiry
- Gas name, mixture composition and purity requirement.
- Maximum supply pressure, required outlet range and operating flow.
- Cylinder valve connection and inlet/outlet fitting details.
- Materials, seals, cleaning and gas-compatibility requirements.
- Manual or semi-automatic changeover, single- or two-stage regulation.
- Gauges or transducers, isolation, purge and relief requirements.
- Installation environment, quantity, documentation and delivery location.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does one regulator suit every speciality gas?
No. Send the precise gas or mixture and service conditions so the appropriate materials, cleaning and configuration can be confirmed.
Should I choose only by the maximum pressure?
No. The working outlet range, flow, stability, connections and gas compatibility also determine the selection. A range maximum is a starting point, not a completed specification.
Can Fluidline help specify a complete arrangement?
Yes. Send a sketch of the supply route and the instrument requirements. Fluidline can help coordinate the regulator, changeover, point-of-use and connection requirements and confirm the proposed scope in the quotation.
Are the products available immediately?
Availability depends on the exact configuration. Confirm stock, manufacture lead time and delivery arrangements with the quotation.
